| First off I have to say if you have gutted cats, consider installing high-flow cats. My car performs better and holds boost better after having high-flow cats installed. I don't think gutting the main cats achieves the kind of performance that most people think it does. I took my car in for the emissions re-test and passed. I failed the initial test because I had high-flow cats installed and drove straight to the inspection station. After putting a couple hundred miles on the cats it *barely* passed (thanks Kyle!). We've all seen the posts of people getting fed up and selling their cars, or dumping tons of money into the cars only to sell them, and I've felt that way just from maintenance costs. My wife was in school, I was working 3 jobs, I didn't have the time to fix the things I wanted to, etc. Now I've had a couple of promotions and my wife is gainfully employed as a Special Education teacher. I had the PowerTrix brake kit installed by SGP, I had high-flow cats installed by SGP, and before I moved I replace my broken transmission. I also installed a new clutch and flywheel. After all of these repairs my car runs effing fantastic! I mean it's an absolute joy to drive again. The clutch is smooth, the brakes stop on a dime, and the super splits with the high flow cats and Genie exhaust give my car a quite rumble that sounds like a refined sports car should. My 300ZX is the best it's ever been. Anyway, there's the longest post for Saturday night. I've spent the last couple of years being frustrated with my car and it seems that phase is finally over.
